Abby McIntire a junior at Westmoore joined the Future Farmers Of America (FFA) during her freshman year, the idea came from her mother who was in the FFA when she attended Westmoore.

Abby has a steer named Bandit who as crazy as it sounds stays in her backyard. During the day Abby travels back and forth from Westmoore to Moore high school where FFA classes are held.  She is enrolled in animal science and horticulture. She has shown her steer at the Cleveland County and Tulsa State Fair winning awards Grand Champion and Star Greenhand.

“It was super nerve-racking the first time showing, but after doing it over and over and knowing that you have worked hard for months and months for this exact moment it is the best feeling ever,” Abby said.

She became president of Moore FFA chapter the end of her sophomore year. She spent the summer planning for the upcoming year. Her drive and motivation continue to burn because of a fire fueled by her passion for FFA.

“This program has given me a place to fit in, it’s like another family to me. I have made lifelong friends all over the state and I wouldn’t trade that for the world.”
