Love Myself is a campaign that was launched with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) that was announced last November, which helps “to stage campaigns against violence toward children and teens around the world, with the hope of making the world a better place through music” and to advocate against youth violence. Kim Nam-Joon better known as RM said “True love first begins with loving myself”.

The motivational speech at the UN from RM has inspired many people to turn the world into a better place and to grow with love and care. The fans have “become a major part of this campaign with their action and with their enthusiasm.”

“I thought that RM’s speech was very good, he uses a universal experience of when you start to value others opinions and what its like and how you start to change. Also, from the speech I liked it when RM said ‘And maybe I made a mistake yesterday, but yesterday’s me is still me. Today, I am who I am with all of my faults and my mistakes. Tomorrow, I might be a tiny bit wiser, and that’ll be me too.’” senior Allison F. said.

RM has shared his struggles growing up as a kid, such as thinking about what other people thought of him and he would stop looking up at the night sky and stopped daydreaming. He then wanted to shut out his own voice and started listening to the voices of others, saying that him and the members of Bangtan Boys known as BTS were hopeless. Sometimes he would even think maybe they would want to quit. He suddenly felt like a ghost, but had one sensory and that was music. RM has said “You got to wake up and listen to yourself and that throughout life there will be a lot of hurdles.”

“BTS have constantly say that it doesn’t matter who you like or what you look like, and they’re always kind and help whenever they can,” said senior Allison F.

Overall, there will be times where you will keep stumbling and falling but you will always have the love and support from the people all around you.
