Winding down to the end of 2018, students are anticipating the long-awaited Christmas Break. With theatres and platforms like Netflix booming with new movies, this winter break surely calls for fuzzy socks and hot chocolate. Here’s a list of movies to watch this winter break to provide entertainment over the vacation that everyone hopes would never end.

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It-Ralph 2: Recently opened over Thanksgiving Break, the new animation has drawn movie enthusiasts of all ages to visit their local theatre. The Disney movie introduces many lessons that can be learned about the horrors of the Internet and the true meaning of friendship. From the start of the film to the end, it shows a different point of view of the usage of the internet and how it affects children and even adults in all settings, including the workspace. Some say the movie is too complicated, while others love the new idea of the internet coming into Litwak’s Arcade in the movie.

Catch the new movie in theatres like Harkins Theatre in downtown or the Warren Theatre in Moore.

The Holiday Calendar: Netflix is really good about releasing seasonal movies, especially around the holidays and they never seem to fail. The Holiday Calendar is filled with the Christmas spirit, helping find one’s true love through a magic calendar that counts down to Christmas from the start of December. The calendar not only brings love but also brings people together in joy and harmony. Highlighting important relationships and their meanings, this movie is one that can be enjoyed by all ages at any time of day.

Irreplaceable You: Another Netflix Original, however this time it’s a tear-jerker. Be sure to grab some tissues before watching this film because they are very much needed. When Abbie is diagnosed with cancer, she goes on a search to cope with her feelings and to find a new lady for her love, Sam. Throughout her journey, she meets various types of people that are just like her and totally opposite of her. Recommended for romance film-lovers and people who are in need of a happy cry, this movie opens a world of what real romance looks like.

Watch this movie with a friend, family member, significant other and enjoy the crazy ride of emotions.

Most of these movies will be playing in a theatre near you, or you can catch them on Netflix and or Redbox!
