Westmoore senior varsity guard Payton G. has been playing the game of basketball since the fourth grade.

Payton puts work in daily. He has put in multiple hours of hard work in the gym to improve his skills and to be ready for the games. His motivation is what keeps him striving for greatness.

“My team puts in so much time in the gym, in practice and outside of practice and when the games come,” Payton said. “We finally get to show how hard we’ve been working.”

With the departure from last year’s upperclassmen, the leadership role fell on Payton.

“Having the leadership role this season will be new for me, but I know it’s my job to lead my team to success, and most importantly win games,” he said.

Payton hopes to make the first team all-conference when the season is finished. He has been accepted by UCO and OU, and hopes to get the opportunity to play somewhere after high school.
