Sports Recap: October 1st-15th

Football: The team beats the Edmond Memorial Bulldogs in ecstatic fashion by a walk-off touchdown and win 33-26. Yet, our team loses a long fought battle versus the Broken Arrow Tigers and earn their first loss of the season while dropping to 5-1.
JV/F Football: The team pushes hard against the Mustang Broncos, securing a close game 21-20. The freshmen have won one game so far, however the young Jaguars are not backing down. The team shows high hopes for the future by possessing an elite level of players, coaches, and dignity.
Cheer: Westmoore varsity cheer won 2nd place with their amazing performance that featured The Greatest Showman at the state competition which was held at Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, OK. On October 5th, cheer volunteered at the Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma run at the Myriad Botanical Garden.
Volleyball: On the emotional Senior night, the team gave a great effort to defeat OKC Storm. Unable to do so, they still cheered each other on and celebrated their seniors. On October 15th, they went to regionals in Mustang and closed out their season. “They fought and played very well,” said Coach Sandburg.
Softball: Taking it all the way home, the team beat the Edmond North Huskies 8-3 to win the regional title. With this win the girls will be headed to the state playoffs looking for their second straight state championship win. Looking to beat the Owasso Rams in their first game, the girls are determined to give their all and come out on top.
Cross Country: Cross Country season is flying by, with records being shattered and state soon approaching. senior Annabel White broke her previous school record of a 19:40 5k at the Chili Pepper Meet in Arkansas with a 19:18. This week the Varsity boys team placed 2nd overall in the Deer Creek meet. Everyone is on the edge of their seats awaiting the results in the next few weeks to see if they make it to state! GO JAGS!
