Student Check Out Update

Dear Parents,

Because student safety and well-being are a top priority, we have devised a plan in accordance with CDC guidelines by which WHS students will be permitted to come to the building to return textbooks, library books, enrollment packets, and student ID’s. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, and seniors are scheduled for Thursday, May 21.

Below is the schedule which designates a specific time slot for students according to their grade level and the first letter of their last name. The schedule for seniors differs slightly since in addition to making returns, they will address some graduation-specific issues such as picking up cords/stoles and cap/gowns that have been paid for in full but have not been picked up yet. It is imperative that everyone follows
the schedule as it is designed to comply with CDC guidelines relating to gatherings of 50 people.

Your compliance with the following directives will help us complete this process safely and smoothly:

  • Students need to check their temperature prior to coming to school. Those who have a temperature, have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19, or have run a temperature of 100.4 in the previous 48 hours are not to come to school.
  • Students are recommended to wear masks.
  • We are obligated to apply the social distancing protocols, so maintain a distance of 6 feet from

    others.

  • Only individual WHS students (or 1 representative from their family) who have textbooks, library

books, enrollment packets, or student ID’s to turn in will be admitted in the building. Households with more than 1 WHS student can send all return items with 1 student rather than multiple students from the same household.

  • Students will enter the building from the front doors, turn in their items at the appropriate stations, and immediately exit the building from one of two designated exits.
  • Students will be in and out of the building in less than 10 minutes, so parents are to wait for them in the parking lot.
  • There will be no loitering permitted inside or outside of the building as this is not intended for a time for socialization.

Please share this information with your children so that they are prepared to meet the expectations listed above. We appreciate your continued support, cooperation, and assistance.
